Very few people in this world possess the passion and compassion for animals like Buck Switzer. Buck truly and deeply cared & loved
his dogs. Prior to Hawkeye & Friends becoming a sancutary, Buck adopted five dogs from me within a five year period; always
adopting the older ones, the ones nobody wanted, the ones who weren't the best looking. None of this mattered to Buck, he saw
beyond that. Buck didn't care his dogs weren't the "perfect dog" because he knew all dogs just want and deserve to be loved. And
that's what Buck gave to Smokey, Biff, Jasmine, Dexter and Lucy - unconditional love. He made sure each of them had a wonderful
life; playing and walking with them when they were feeling good; nursing and caring for them when they were ailing. Buck Switzer
was a great friend to the rescue. On February 9, 2007 my friend Buck went to the "bridge" to be with his beloved Smokey, Biff and
Jasmine (and his kitty Samantha. Lucy & Dexter are back here with me at the rescue). Buck's incredible spirit of love and concern
for animals lives on through my mission to save and care for so many wonderful animals. In Buck's honor and memory I invite
everyone to join Buck's Club. This is a program where through your donation you can be a "sponsor" for one or more of the dogs.
Your donation(s) will help cover the costs to care for the sweet, sassy, smart, not-so-smart, well behaved, not-so-well-behaved dogs
